I’m sitting here on a Thursday night watching the HGTV show (I have a slight obsession with HGTV ever since my Cheverly home was featured a few years back) Fixer Upper. Have you seen it? A couple from Waco, Texas finds great old homes and fix them up for their clients. Think about what 100K or 150K would do for a home?! As I’m sitting here watching, I remembered that I saw a Cheverly Ave. fixer upper on the Cheverly history website. The home, 3400 Cheverly Ave, was one of the first homes in Cheverly. It was built in 1920 and is a McClure House. You can read more about it here. Like I said, it’s a fixer upper and I guarantee that if the TV show were in this area, they would fix up this house. My favorite picture from the listing is the one I’ve posted above. Look at the picture-I’ am in love with the old fireplace. Ahh…If I had the money, I’d buy this house and restore it to it’s 1920ties charm. It is listed for 181K. Know anyone looking for a house in our hood?!
The fixer upper is now under contract!
