Fundraising Dinner and Silent Auction

Last year was my first time attending Cheverly United Methodist Church’s Silent Auction. When I look back, some really dear friendships formed that night. We had time to talk and laugh–and bit on some really fun items. Even if you don’t plan to bid on the items, plan to attend. Proceeds help our local church which serves our community well. Thanks to Chase, Denise, and Nancy for putting this together.

This year’s annual November Fundraiser Dinner and Silent Auction will held on November 22, 2014 at the Cheverly American Legion starting at 6pm.  The menu this year will feature heavy appetizers prepared by Cheverly’s own Spencer Morris, Jr., head chef at the Alexandra Pastry and Catering Company.  Also, we will have desserts prepared by the women of the church.  We already have several wonderful holiday gifts available through our auction — including jewelry, children’s books and games, professionally made-to-order desserts and flower arrangements and a day trip and lunch to a local cabin.  As an added bonus, this year we plan to have a live musical performance to help make the night even more special.

However, we still need your support.  Please consider donating an auction item; it can be anything you think would make a great gift — including housewares, gift certificates to restaurants, or a service such music lessons or a household chore.  Furthermore, please come to the event, which has become even more fun over the years.  The committee is thrilled to be able to have the event right in the community and share this special time of year with our Cheverly family and friends.  Tickets are $35 each and $40 after November 14th.  For more information on how to make a donation or to buy tickets, please contact Denise Carrigan at
