Watching my kids and their sweet excitement about meeting Santa makes me so happy. We’ve made a tradition of heading to the Cheverly gym for their Christmas party for the past 2 years. They have an awesome puppet show, crafts, drinks and food, and of course, the kids get to meet Santa. The first time I attended, I couldn’t believe it. I felt like I was walking into the 1950ties. Cheverly has a chair for Santa that they use every year. It makes me wonder if my kids will one day take their kids to see Santa in the Cheverly chair. I love the idea of it. And again, I love it that I’m just not another person in a line to meet Santa at the local mall. My kids get to meet Santa with friends and neighbors who know and love them. Santa visits their town. Their gym–where they play during the winter. This special neighborhood honors tradition and continues to host these events for our kids. You might have to wait in a long line, but it will be worth it. The festivities start at 11am at the town gym. Here are some shots from the last couple of years: (love the expressions on my kids faces)
