Ok, it’s winter and I’m just so tired of the cold. Schools have been closed for less than an inch of snow and I’m still waiting for the big storm. In my opinion, if the weather is cold, we should have snow. I hibernate in the winter, rarely coming out to see any of my friends—but I know it’s good to do. And this leads me to today’s post. Did you get this month’s newsletter in your mailbox? Do you throw them out or look them over? If you looked this one over you would’ve seen that we have a million activities going on during this cold month. And you should join one, at least one. Get out of the house to make it to one meeting/activity. There is just so much to do. And when you live in Cheverly, if you are not out doing at least one of these things, hmm….well, it’s just not good.
I’m off my soap box now. Check out the newsletter please. Inside you will find activities from all these groups: CPACT (Citizens and Police Working Together), Town Meeting with the Mayor and Council, Cheverly Rec Council, Cheverly Green Committee, St. Ambrose, Cheverly United Methodist, St. Ambrose Men’s Club, Progressive Cheverly, Boy Scouts, Cheverly Garden Club, The Cheverly Women’s Club, The Cheverly Legion, Cheverly Village, Cheverly Day Committee and CPRC (Cheverly Parents group).

My favorite picks for the month? I think it is lovely that St. Ambrose is having Soup and Stations every Friday night during lent. I’m not Catholic but I’m hoping to make some. The stations start at 6:30 and soup is at 7. I love that they welcome the community to come. St. Ambrose Men’s Club is also having a Spaghetti dinner and CUMC is having a Pancake supper. The American Legion hosts Queen of Hearts game every Friday at 7:30. There is a nature hike and a Friends of Lower Beaverdam Creek cleanup morning, a meeting with the Cheverly police about crime in 2014, and hey—do you want to help with Cheverly Day or with the Cheverly Easter Egg hunt? There are prep meetings for all of this. It takes a village to do all of these lovely, helpful things. It’s never too late to get involved. There is so much to do.
