Ok, I know from the picture above that the place looks strange. I would’ve passed it by a thousand times without giving it a second glance unless I read this article by the Washington Post. And boy oh boy I’m glad I did. Obsessed would be an understatement. I’ve been to La Fondita twice in the past 3 days. It’s almost hard for me to describe how incredible my tacos were–but my husband said, “This is probably the best meal I’ve had over the past year.” We are total foodies so for him to say that was fairly amazing. La Fondita is a little home that has bars on the windows- but inside it is full of fresh tasty food. And it’s only a 10 min drive from Cheverly. I tried two tacos that the Washington Post writer suggested- the spicy pork taco and the chorizo taco. The corn tortillas are made fresh and are delish. My favorite was definitely the chorizo taco. ($2.50 a taco) This joint does not serve alcohol so people come with their families for the excellent food. The fellow in the picture on the bottom says he drives out from Laurel. I learned from the staff over the weekend that only one person working here speaks English so if you can use your finger to point to the pictures on the menu, you will be just fine.
