Cheverly Day 2015!

Fireworks, Entertainment, Games, Softball, Basketball, Beer and Yummy Food—you will find all of this and more at Cheverly Day 2015! Did you know that Cheverly Day has been taking place annually since 1966? 1966 was the first Cheverly Day parade and in 1967 Cheverly Day was celebrated with fireworks on July 4th. I’m ashamed to say it now, but I had no idea about Cheverly Day (really- besides what was posted in the Newsletter that came in my mail) the first few years I lived in the neighborhood. You ask, “how could that happen?!” I’m wondering the same thing. I think I just didn’t know many people in town so it felt a bit awkward to me. Don’t do the same thing, readers. Head to Cheverly Day on Saturday. Tell your neighbors, especially the ones who don’t spend much time online. If you play softball, come out for the game. If you love to eat, come by the St. Ambrose Men’s Club Beer Garden- or come out in the evening for the firework show. The schedule can be found below, the Facebook page here, and of course you should definitely look at the website. At 1:30 2 shuttles will be driving around town. (see pictures above) Make sure you look at the map so you can jump on the bus and get a ride to the Town Park. I will be riding for the first couple routes so the bus drivers don’t get lost. Make sure to say hi!

So…even if you don’t know anyone (yet)…come down and spend time celebrating your community! Happy Cheverly Day 2015.
