Food Truck Festival and more…

The Food Truck Festival. Another way to get out of the house, meet your neighbors, have some good food and a drink or two. Huge thanks to Rachel Dabney Rice who dreamed up this idea last year. These are how things happen in our nice little town. You have an idea (I’ve often spoke with other friends in town about getting a coffee truck to come on a regular basis), present it to the Mayor and town council and like magic, it somehow happens. (with lots of work!) I was out of town last year when we had our first one but apparently the lines were so long and the food trucks couldn’t believe how many people showed up. This year we will have more food options (so the lines should be shorter) alongside music and a few things for the kids.

So mark your calendars- tonight is Public Safety Night- starting at 5pm. (love this event!) You can come for a FREE dinner. Wow. Thank you Cheverly Legion!

Friday, the Cheverly Parents are hosting a potluck at town park.

Saturday we have the Community Market with a few opportunities for fitness. (including a kids fitness time at 10:30)

Sunday is the Food Truck Festival. More details can be found online

NOW is the time to show off our community. Cheverly residents, invite your friends. I know that many of my faithful readers are those who are checking out Cheverly but are unsure about buying right now. Well, I’d suggest showing up tonight. Show up on Sat and show up on Sunday. Look at how a community is supposed to function. Look at what we’ve lost around the DC area (but can be found in Cheverly)–a NEIGHBORHOOD. People talking to one another- volunteers giving out food. Meet our Cheverly Police. You can’t walk away unimpressed.

More info for Sunday:

The Cheverly Food Truck Festival is THIS SUNDAY from 4-7pm
outside the Cheverly Community Center located at 6401 Forest Road in Cheverly, MD.

This family friendly festival has no admission fee and lots of free activities like a balloon twister and live band! Many of the trucks are selling dinners for as little as $10 a plate.

The Festival will have a beer and wine tent, The Mavins performing live, Glitter Tattoos Artists, Balloons by Brenda who will be twisting free creations for the kids, and lines of food trucks featuring Jamaican, Indian, BBQ, Seafood, Moroccan, Ethiopian, Steak N Cheese, Funnel Cake, Cotton Candy and more!

Bring a chair or blanket and plan to come join us! The weather is supposed to be perfect.
