A Few of My Favorite Things: Vintage House Parts

One of my favorite new books called Habitat from local interior designer, Lauren Liess encourages the readers to put vintage back into your home. If you have a house built in the thirties, Liess says to buy vintage door knobs, even if you have new doors. Her advice put me on the hunt for some vintage pieces for my Cheverly colonial home. I had been wanting to buy an eagle door knocker and a chandelier for my living room. I found both at Vintage House Parts. This little shop is about a 10 minute drive from Cheverly in Mt. Rainier, Maryland. I’m kicking myself that I didn’t know about this shop when we bought the home we are living in now. We had to put in kitchen drawer knobs, light fixtures, door knobs etc and I ended up getting all these things at our local Home Depot. So shop local. Put some beauty back in your home by shopping at Vintage House Parts.

ps: don’t you just love my eagle? It looks beautiful on my red front door.

Best,

Lisa
