Morning Glory Design: Before Pictures

Hello friends. Today I have a really fun post that I’m excited to share. Meet Joanna Finnegan of Morning Glory Design. I haven’t met her (yet) but I hope to soon. Just like me, Joanna bought a fixer upper in Cheverly. (I’ve bought two and just LOVE fixing them up) Today I will share her before photos and tomorrow I will share the after pictures. If you are looking for an interior decorator, she might be for you! See her note below. I look forward to sharing her home transformation tomorrow.

Best,

Lisa

My husband and I moved to Cheverly about two and a half years ago after living on a boat in the Washington Channel for three years. We purchased a short-sale fixer upper and immediately started renovations. Our house was stuck in the 80’s under layers of wallpaper, linoleum tile, nasty wall-to-wall carpet and a 4-person pink jacuzzi! Obsessed with HGTV and a not-so-healthy attachment for Pinterest, I began designing our 4000 sq ft of living space. Coming from living on a boat, I learned how to live in a tiny space, how to organize, and how to live clutter free. I wanted our house to have a nautical vibe for my husband (former Coast Guardsman), but also to match my shabby chic country style and love for reclaimed wood. Although corny, I came up with the term “Countrustical” (Country, Rustic, Nautical) for “The Finnegan House” vision. Eventually, I ran out of rooms to decorate and design, and have moved on to helping family and friends. I’d love to help out Cheverly residents or those who live nearby with renovation ideas or who are just looking for some key pieces to make their home more unique. I can work with any budget and love to find unique furniture that needs a little TLC. Many of the pieces in our house are from flea markets, estate sales, thrift stores and Craigslist. Happy holidays from our home to yours!

WOW! Looks like that will be a fun project. I can’t wait to see the finished product.
