I thought I’d do a little comparing again today. Brookland (because it’s so close and still transitioning) vs Cheverly:
Here’s what is on the market right now in Cheverly. This run down house on Laurel Ave (which is a great street, btw) is going for 254K. Think about how much 100K could do for this home. Oh my word. It makes me excited just thinking of the idea. Someone needs to come in with fresh paint, tear up the carpet, put in a new kitchen, repave the driveway and use that pool! The built ins look decent but might need some work- but with some elbow grease, it could really look good.
Now, if you look at the prices in Brookland, well- you can’t find anything below 500K… So this interesting house is going for 650K:
