Truck Touch 2016: Support Our Youngest

IMG_1919 (002)

And what are your neighbors meeting about at 8:00pm on a Tuesday evening? (in a preschool classroom of all places?) I’m so glad you asked. Your neighbors have children in Cheverly Weekday Nursery, a local preschool option that meets at the Cheverly United Methodist Church. The space is absolutely beautiful and is completely transformed from its former seventies dark wood decor. The transformation into a light, bright and cheery space happened as a result of the hard work of parent volunteers who raised money at Cheverly’s Truck Touch. The Truck Touch is not only an awesome event for everyone in town, (but especially children) it’s a fundraiser to support the youngest in our community. So even if you don’t have kids, you have no excuse to not stop by for lunch and make a donation. (Sat May 7th from 10-2)

Where will the money go this year? Cheverly Weekday Nursery is looking to improve the worn down playground that they currently have for the kids. If you haven’t seen the Truck Touch in years past, here’s a sneak peak into what you might see:

So mark your calendars for this awesome event on May 7th. Hope to see you there!

Truck Touch is one of my favorite things in the world! The first May we lived in our house we were awoken at 10am by the horns from Truck Touch…little did we know that a few years later I’d be one of the lead organizers of the event and unable to imagine how I ever slept until 10am!!
