Our after dinner conversation went something like this: “Mom, let’s take a walk.” I absolutely love walks so I was all for it. My two boys (pictured above) got on their walking finest (ha) and my youngest put on his construction safety glasses. We took off down the road with our sticks and immediately ran into our two favorite neighbor friends. They love nature so after asking their parents, we decided to go on a nature walk. I think this nature walk brought me as much joy as eating at a 5 star restaurant. As we made our way around Cheverly before our bedtime, we met a 88 year old woman named Maria who spoke to the kids with her Italian accent. We got a spontaneous tour of “the power of water” in a semi strangers (I know his wife) backyard and we even ran into some of the their friends. My son taught me that the purple flowers sprouting up are called “crocus” and that bugs will be coming out because spring is coming. These kids. I love their imaginations. I love it that on our short walk, the community greeted us and that we felt safe. So thankful that my kids will have these lovely memories. We have the best neighborhood…
