Have any of you looked at the Cheverly May Newsletter? Somehow I didn’t catch it in the mail so I found it online. Oh my word. Can we live in a busier town? There is so much inside that I will not try to cover it all in this one post, but I do want to share what we have in store for this week. All of these events make me so happy and I am seriously praying for no rain this weekend.
Today. Did you know that we are electing our Mayor today? Serving as Mayor in Cheverly is a full time job. Huge shout out to Mayor Mike who is running again. Voting takes place at Town Hall until 8pm.
Tuesday: Dine out at Franklin’s and they will give 20% of your bill to the Cheverly Community Market. This is a win win. I’m going…and you can even meet the Market board at 5:30. More details can be found here.
Thursday at 5pm: Celebrate Cinco De Mayo at the Cheverly American Legion. (in the dugout) Join them for Cinco de Mayo specials including Margaritas, Mexican beer and tacos. 3 soft tacos for $5; vegetarian available.
Saturday is the day it MUST NOT rain! Cheverly Garden Club is hosting a plant sale at the Town Park at 8am. The Club invites you to attend OUR BIGGEST FUND RAISER, our annual plant sale, on Saturday, MAY 7th at the TOWN PARK. The sale begins promptly at 8AM until we sell out. THERE WILL BE LOTS FOR YOU TO BUY and ask questions and we try to be of help. This is the same day as the Truck Touch only one block away. Why buy from us? All of our perennial plants come from Cheverly and grow in Cheverly soil and conditions. We will also have hanging baskets, annuals, and vegetable plants. Check out our Facebook event page for more details: https://www.facebook.com/events/814820855328450/ Those beautiful Caladiums that do so very well here and are NO WORK to raise will be for sale. Some have been ordered so if you are sure you want in on this deal please call 301.773.1991 or e-mail Acgardenh@aol.com ASAP and identify that you are ordering Caladium Bulbs.
Ok, friends. You cannot miss this event. Even if you don’t have children, please stop by and make a donation and grab a lunch. Volunteer parents will be running a food stand cooking up hamburgers and hot dogs so make it a lunch date. All of the funds will go toward a new playground for the Cheverly kids.
And if you are still reading this post, please please spread the word about our amazing town. We have so many great homes up for sale right now… Here is just a couple of new ones on the market:
2715 Lake Ave. Such a charming home with great landscape!
3209 Tremont Ave is only 329K!
