I just picked up the latest edition of the Washingtonian magazine. I love it because there are all sorts of gems inside and this past month they focused on The Chesapeake Bay. When oh when are they going to feature Cheverly?! Trust me, I’ve sent an email or two to the editors.
My husband mentioned that he heard good things about a restaurant in Ivy City- not just any restaurant, a smoke house. I immediately thought of his obsession with all things meat and was less than excited about trying it out. Then I read the Washingtonian article which explained that Ivy City Smokehouse sells fish, shrimp, oysters, clams, fish tacos, crab and the like. (you can find the menu here) They just opened their outdoor rooftop patio seating (see pic above) and I cannot wait to go.
The reason I’m sharing the good news with you is that 10 years ago when I first moved to Cheverly we had very limited close food options. I’m so glad that Ivy City is filling in the gap for us. It’s so close to Cheverly–and has really good food. With all the terrible news in our county, I’m thankful for these small gifts- like great seafood nearby.
