So what do we do here in Cheverly during the holidays? I’m glad you asked. Cheverly has it’s own unique long lasting holiday traditions. (just like with Easter and Thanksgiving) Just like our town has the same Easter Bunny that shows up every year, we also have the same Santa Claus that makes an appearance at the Holiday Party. Oh yes. See my boys with him when they were little:
The our tiny little town does our tiny town things (which are cheesy and small townish, but that is what I like) and especially during the holidays. Our holiday program will start at the Community Center with a couple songs from our local churches and schools. Cookies and drinks will be served. After that we all walk together to Legion Park where we light the yule log and light the Christmas tree. The program will start at 6:30 and the tree lighting at 7:45. The tree lighting is one of my favorite events in Cheverly.
On Saturday the Community Center will open once again to have the annual holiday party and Santa Claus will make an appearance. There are crafts for kids and a long puppet show that is geared for older children. On Saturday night the Cheverly Weekday Nursery group will have it’s first Chevelry Holiday Home Tour fundraiser from 4-8pm. Tickets can be bought online at www.cheverlyhometour.com My home is on the tour and I’d love to meet some of my readers. Please introduce yourself and say hi. And lastly, we cannot forget about the Christmas Market on Dec. 10th. Happy Holidays to all of you!
