Fitness Opportunities in 2017

This is the time of the year when the gym gets crazy…a large amount of the American population is setting fitness goals for the new year. Cheverly has plenty of options for those of you who want to get fit. Please see my extensive list here: https://ichoosecheverly.com/2016/04/05/healthy-cheverly/

To highlight a few, there is a group of residents who meet together in the gym a couple times a week. I plan to visit soon and write a blog post about it so I can better understand what they do. We have two personal trainers in town, Kris Bozwell and Anna Smith with Greenleaf Fitness. We also have the owner of Wildflower Yoga living in Cheverly and she runs classes out of the Methodist Church.

Wildflower Yoga is offering winter session classes starting on the 16th: This is a 13 week session on Mondays and Wednesdays.  Registration is now open!  Please check the schedule here and then send me an email with your name, phone number, and class for which you would like to register.  Payments may be made through paypal or via check mailed to: Wildflower Yoga, PO Box 1473, Cheverly MD 20785.

On Tuesday mornings you can register your child for a Wiggle Worms class with Greenleaf Fitness (see pic above). This fast paced, energy packed class will engage your little ones from start to finish.  In each 30 minute session, we will teach them the basics of a healthy and fun workout by showing them proper techniques for stretching, jumping jacks, toe touches and more.  Body movement, balance and agility will also be incorporated in this fast paced fun environment.  Basic principles of healthy eating will also be covered.

Cost: $60 for six classes
Date/Time: Tuesday mornings from 9:30-10:00am
Location:  Yoga Room, Cheverly United Methodist Church
Ages: Walking to 3 years old.

And now for my own personal plug. I’m a Planet Fitness member because they only cost $10 a month and they are open 24 hours. My husband loves 24 Hour Fitness by Wegmans and I work out with Anna Smith from Greenleaf Fitness twice a week. (which has been amazing!!!) I hope we all can find many ways to stay healthy in 2017.
