Breakfast Anyone?

Pre kids my husband and I would drive over to College Park to a diner for breakfast. It was lovely to sit and talk and drink coffee for what felt like hours upon hours. We had nothing on our schedule and all the time in the world. Alas, how time (and children) changes things…

I’m still a sucker for a great breakfast but our nearby dining options (well, we do have Busboys and Poets) are not too hot. Thankfully Ivy City is going to great for all of the foodies in Cheverly. A mere 10 min (or less) drive away, Ivy City has opened a new diner and Gravitas (one of the most anticipated restaurants in the DC area for 2017) is coming in the spring. Ari’s Diner is up and running and I hope to make it by this weekend. They have great reviews and the place is quite charming:

And yes, they have milkshakes–even adult milkshakes. So go check it out and support our local restaurants. Cheers! Lisa

My boyfriend and I checked out Ari’s Diner at your recommendation! It opened up a new view to Ivy City and we read up on the neighborhood’s history and struggles. He’s a Maryland lifer and I have lived in DC for 20 years but neither of us had been on Fenwick or these streets. Thanks! Love your blog, which I found when wondering about the history of the Bavarian house.
