I’m in the middle of hibernating for winter. For all of you who are feeling the need to leave your homes to meet up with others, Cheverly is here for you. Truly, it doesn’t matter what season we are in, Cheverly will keep things exciting for the next 2 weeks:
Plans for the Super Bowl? Come out and join the Cheverly American Legion and Cheverly Parent Resource Center (CPRC) for a family friendly Super Bowl party. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., Sunday, January 4. (1hr before game time). It’s an indoor tailgate party to watch the Super Bowl (literally, bring a lawn chair to watch the game in the event hall). Hot dogs ($1) and burgers ($2) are available for purchase. Everything else is potluck style. We’ll have adult drinks available for purchase in the Dugout bar, and kids’ juice and water will be available in the event hall. Kids’ crafts and games, and some adult games will be available in the event hall. Sign-up at the following link to help with the potluck: http://signup.com/go/zqNtvMm
Feeling the need to dance? Meet up with your neighbors at the Sweetheart Charity Ball. For the first time this year, Cheverly’s annual Sweetheart Charity Ball potluck dinner/dance to help human trafficking survivors (on Friday Feb 9 from 7-11 pm at St. Ambrose Fannon Hall) will offer FREE CHILD CARE for kids ages kindergarten and up during the Ball (See attached flyer for details and reservation info about the Ball.) Cheverly’s own Dino Efantis and his band are providing the music, with swing, samba, waltz and more! The child care will be provided next door to the Ball at St. Ambrose School by a Virtus-trained After-Care Provider who currently works at St. Ambrose School in the After Care Program–assisted by three student volunteers from Elizabeth Seton High School. (The Charity Ball budget will pay the cost of having the trained professional supervisor.) While you visit and dance at the Ball next door, your child will make Valentine’s Day cards for you parents/guardians, play cards and board games, and watch a movie. (We ask you to feed your kids dinner before dropping them off at 7 and provide them with a snack to eat during the evening.) If you would like to have your child (children) cared for while you attend the Ball, please register online to attend the Ball email firstname.lastname@example.org if you want to make a reservation and pay by cash or check made out to St. Ambrose Ladies of Charity.
