Ahhh friends. It’s been quite a long winter. I’m so thrilled that the weather is changing and love how our neighborhood looks in the spring. My family has been a bit under the weather with life and health. Things are looking up today and I’m finally blogging again. Can I tell you how excited I am to enjoy all of the Cheverly upcoming activities? If you are new to town, please please please plan to be in town on the weekend of May 19th. Why? It’s Cheverly Day and you won’t want to miss it. (More of that info to come) For now I wanted to make sure that all of you knew about a couple fitness classes happening in town. If you read all the way to the end, you will find news on the Cheverly Prom. (my fav night of the year in Cheverly!)
Did you know that Cheverly has a number of fitness groups in town?
Two of them are starting new classes for the spring. And truly, there is something going on almost every night and most mornings in Cheverly. Come meet your neighbors and sign up for these classes. Wildflower Yoga run by a Cheverly resident has a class this evening:
This session is 12 weeks long and there are classes for every level of practitioner. Beginners have two choices: Monday 6:45-7:45 pm or Wednesday 6:45-7:45pm. All classes are at Cheverly United Methodist Church on the top floor (sanctuary balcony level).

Greenleaf Fitness is also run by a local resident and she will be leading a class with me alongside on Sunday mornings.
Strength: Faith, Fellowship, Fitness
A class focused on thoughtful low impact movements, strengthening the body through exercises that challenge core strength, flexibility, and stability while also providing an opportunity to deepen ones faith through weekly devotions and reflections during class. This class will be led by Anna Smith with help from Lisa Schultz.
When: Sundays, April 22nd, April 29th, May 6th, May 13th,May 20th
Where: Cheverly United Methodist Church
Cost: $10 per class (75% of the proceeds will be donated to organizations in Cheverly as a way of giving back to strengthen our community. (Spellman, Help By Phone, Cheverly Village, CPRC, and others)
You do not need to sign up in advance. Please come when you can and as often as you can.
And now for the most amazing news about the Cheverly Prom… SAVE THE DATE! CHVProm 2018 is on Friday, May 18th from 8:00pm – midnight. CHVProm kicks off Cheverly Day with music, dancing, great food, drinks and prizes! Start brainstorming with your friends now to win one of the following prizes : “Best Dressed, “Best Decorated Table” or “Best cocktail contest”! This year’s theme is “IT’S WRITTEN IN THE STARS.”
Tickets will go on sale Saturday, May 5th from 9am-11am outside town hall and sell out quickly every year! Ticket sales will also be held on Tuesday May 8th (time/location TBD) and only if tickets are stills available after the Saturday sale. Individual tickets are $20 per person or you can buy a full table of 12 for $240. Individual tickets and tables of 12 will be sold outside Town Hall on Saturday May 5th from 9am-11am, CHECK OR MONEY ORDER ONLY. Please note- THERE ARE NO ADVANCED TICKET SALES OR RESERVATIONS.
